In 2012, VPS proudly expanded its efforts to raise funds for pediatric cancer research by selling $1 "icons" from Saturday, June 23 through Saturday, July 21 in all of its locations. VPS partnered with the Jeff Gordon Children's Foundation to direct the dollars raised at each site to the closest pediatric cancer hospital so that local children would benefit from the money raised. VPS also partnered with the Jeff Gordon Foundation to host an Annual Bowl-a-thon to raise money by asking vendors to sponsor lanes and bowl with celebrities. VPS Stores and vendor partners raised a record-setting $196,526!!!!!
Last year, Village Pantry Stores alone raised $135,740.43 to benefit Riley Children's Hospital in Indiana. Village Pantry and The Jeff Gordon Foundation have raised more than $2.7 million during their partnership! Last year was the 10 year anniversary for the bowl-a-thon event in Indianapolis and the tenth year Village Pantry has been the Title Sponsor.
